Elopement in the Scottish Highlands

Lyndsay and Keith had the vision of Eloping to Scotland, with her mother and 90-year-old grandmother as witnesses. They said “I do” in the breathtaking grandeur of Finlarig Castle, followed by an intimate picnic on the rolling hills.

Lyndsay and Keith then embarked on a whirlwind honeymoon, retreating to the beautiful Highlands at Inverness, spending a romantic day exploring Balmoral Castle, and feeling the magic of Harry Potter and the Glenfinnan Viaduct. They lingered on the shores of Loch Ness, strolled the manicured gardens of Drummond Castle, and celebrated their wedding in style.

“The elopement part was from a fairytale and the rest of the trip was stupendous. I can’t imagine traveling without Rachael.”

When To Travel

The UK is divine year-round, but spring and autumn are truly spectacular. Vibrant blooms, colorful gardens, and majestic trees put on a show later in the year. Be prepared for rain any time. Winter’s nippy, but the festive cheer is irresistible.

Have Questions About Your Dream Trip to The UK?

  • Absolutely! England has an incredible train network allowing you to explore so many wonderful cities, towns, and villages without the use of a car.

  • Both options are wonderful ways to see England and offer unique experiences. If you plan to do a road trip I encourage clients that less is more. Roads in England are deceiving and while it seems not too far, the winding roads and random sheep roadblocks can add lots of time to your day. Road trips can be exhausting so keeping realistic expectations can make them more fun! Having a private driver or guide who is native to the area allows you to truly take in everything you see. You’ll discover hidden gems most people miss. While more expensive, this option allows you more freedom to sit back, relax, and enjoy.

  • By car, with a spirit of adventure! A road trip through Scotland offers the freedom to meander through its rugged highlands and discover hidden treasures. Let the winding roads lead you to breathtaking vistas, charming villages, and a unique sense of serene isolation.

  • London is GIANT! I can’t stress this enough to clients. London covers an area of 600 square miles while in comparison, Paris is squeezed into 40 square miles. I recommend a minimum of three to four days in this lovely city. But, if it’s your first time visiting I suggest a minimum of one week to see and experience all the amazing things there are to see and do!

  • You have a couple of choices. The train journey from London to Edinburgh takes roughly four hours, a chance to watch the English countryside unfold into the dramatic Scottish landscape. Alternatively, a quick flight of about an hour and 25 minutes will whisk you between the two.

  • While London may be a big city there are lots of ways to explore it. Many clients prefer to have drivers and guides take them around the city to enjoy the comfort of a vehicle at all times. The Tube also offers elevators and escalators to ensure it’s accessible to all. Any physical limitations, preferences, and concerns are discussed during the planning process to ensure your comfort at all times.
